A leading AmLaw 50 firm is seeking a motivated Junior Associate Attorney to join its highly-regarded Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Practice Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to advise on cutting-edge privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity matters in connection with sophisticated corporate and technology transactions across a broad range of industries.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.

  • 1–3 years of substantive experience advising on privacy, data processing, or cybersecurity issues in connection with corporate and technology transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), public offerings, and other commercial and strategic deals.

  • Experience with M&A, capital markets, technology transactions, or other transactional work is required.

  • Background in technology industries, regulatory policy, and enforcement is highly desirable.

  • CIPP certification is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity matters in connection with complex corporate and technology transactions.

  • Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and data governance strategies.

  • Work closely with deal teams to address privacy and cybersecurity considerations in M&A, public offerings, and strategic alliances.

  • Assist clients operating in innovative sectors, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and data protection provisions in transactional documents.

  • Support clients in responding to regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions related to data and cybersecurity matters.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: $225,000 – $260,000, commensurate with experience and class year.

  • Discretionary merit bonus eligibility.
