A top-10 AmLaw firm is seeking a driven Associate Attorney to join its Projects & Energy group, with a focus on energy transition financing. This is a key role supporting sophisticated transactions in a cutting-edge practice advising on renewable energy project development, tax equity, and related M&A across the U.S. and internationally.
Candidate Profile
JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
4+ years of substantive experience in energy transition financing.
Substantial experience handling project finance, M&A, and tax credit monetization (e.g., tax equity) for renewables or clean energy projects.
Deep familiarity with federal incentive structures and the evolving legal landscape of clean energy financing.
Proven ability to independently lead transactions, interact with clients, and mentor junior team members.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with sophisticated institutional clients.
Interest in sustainability and innovation within the energy and infrastructure space.
AmLaw Experience: Relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 firm is strongly preferred.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage transactions related to the financing, acquisition, and development of energy transition projects and platforms.
Advise clients on tax equity structures, investment vehicles, and renewable energy credits.
Draft and negotiate key financing documents and conduct related diligence.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., tax, environmental, regulatory) to structure and close complex deals.
Stay current with evolving energy policy and regulatory changes impacting project finance.
