Labor & Employment Associate Attorney (Junior to Mid-Level)

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a skilled and motivated Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their Employment, Labor, Benefits and Immigration Practice Group in their Silicon Valley (Palo Alto) office. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge employment litigation matters and gain trial experience while advising clients on complex workplace issues.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in California.

  • 2-4 years of substantive experience in employment litigation, with a desire for arbitration and trial work.

  • Experience defending wage and hour claims, including wage and hour class action lawsuits.

  • Meaningful experience in transactional employment matters, including drafting employment and severance agreements, EEOC position statements, and DFEH responses.

  • Experience conducting witness interviews and depositions.

  • Background in counseling employers on federal and state employment law compliance, drafting workplace policies, and assisting clients with employment training programs is a plus.

  • Experience in traditional management labor relations is advantageous.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defend employers in complex employment litigation matters, including class action wage and hour disputes.

  • Draft and prepare employment agreements, severance agreements, and workplace policies.

  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and California employment laws.

  • Represent clients in depositions, witness interviews, and trial preparations.

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys on high-stakes employment cases and transactional matters.

The firm offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range commensurate with experience. The target annual pay range for this role in Palo Alto is $225,000-$275,000.
