PUBLIC & PROJECT FINANCE ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Our client, an AmLaw 100 and Vault 100 law firm, is seeking a skilled Public & Project Finance Associate Attorney to join its rapidly-expanding practice in Phoenix. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex finance transactions involving public and private infrastructure projects across multiple industries, including renewable energy, housing, health care, education, and water/sewer facilities.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in Arizona (preferred) or eligible to become admitted.

  • 2–5 years of substantive experience in public finance, project finance, or other finance transactions.

  • Familiarity with public and project finance documentation and/or tax equity structures.

  • Experience handling complex financial transactions, including deal structuring and closings.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent client-facing skills and a proactive approach to business development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent borrowers, developers, investment banks, investors, issuers, and lenders in public and project finance transactions.

  • Draft and negotiate finance documents, including bond purchase agreements, loan agreements, and disclosure documents.

  • Advise clients on deal structures, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Manage transaction closings, ensuring all legal and financial requirements are met.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop innovative financing solutions for infrastructure projects.

  • Participate in marketing and business development initiatives, including client engagement and industry conferences.
