Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their Energy Regulatory & Markets Group within the Project Development & Finance practice in their D.C. office. JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
Active Bar Admission in D.C.
3+ years of substantive experience in federal energy regulatory matters, including practice before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Experience advising clients on regulatory frameworks involving power markets and/or natural gas.
Prior experience at a national or international law firm is required.
Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage regulatory filings and proceedings, conduct legal research, and counsel clients on compliance strategies.
Represent clients before the FERC on a range of regulatory matters involving power and natural gas.
Advise on market rules, rates, and tariff filings under the Federal Power Act and the Natural Gas Act.
Provide counsel on regulatory approvals, enforcement actions, and transactional regulatory due diligence.
Collaborate with colleagues across project finance, environmental, and corporate teams to support large-scale energy projects.
Stay abreast of evolving federal energy policies and provide strategic advice to clients navigating these changes.
Draft and negotiate regulatory filings, pleadings, and responses to agency inquiries.
