Our client, a highly regarded AmLaw 50 law firm, is seeking a talented Special Counsel Attorney to join their dynamic Litigation Department in support of their Construction Practice Group. This full-time, non-partner-track role is available in the firm’s Miami, Orlando, or Tampa offices and is ideal for an experienced litigation attorney who thrives in a high-volume, independent work environment and is looking to focus on construction-related disputes, arbitration, and insurance litigation.
JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
Active Bar Admission in Florida, in good standing.
2–7 years of substantive litigation experience, ideally including arbitration and mediation.
Demonstrated experience conducting discovery, drafting and arguing motions in court, and handling depositions.
Familiarity with construction and design defect litigation, insurance claims, and related areas is highly desirable.
Proven success in case resolution, including settlements.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Experience supervising paralegals and legal support teams is a plus.
Soft Skills: research, persuasive writing, time management, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Manage a high volume of construction-related litigation matters, with an emphasis on arbitration proceedings.
Draft legal documents, including motions, memoranda, pleadings, and discovery responses.
Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings.
Coordinate closely with supervising attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel to ensure efficient and effective resolution of disputes.
Support the Construction Practice Group in handling claims related to insurance, construction defects, design disputes, and contract performance.
Oversee and direct paralegals and support staff in case preparation and document management.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $130,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
