Our client, a leader in specialty building products, is seeking a Manager of Corporate Operations, preferably with specialty wood or building materials experience, to oversee warehouse and distribution operations across three locations.
Locations:Stockton, CA (Candidates may also reside near Concord, NC or Elgin, IL – travel is required between these 3 locations)
Job Summary:This role will lead inventory management, logistics, safety, and process improvement across all sites. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on operational leader with strong experience in warehouse and facility management, particularly in the building materials or stair parts industry. This position reports directly to the President and supervises 7–10 direct reports across all locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of warehouse operations including receiving, inventory control, storage, and shipping across three regional facilities
Standardize systems, processes, and procedures across locations to ensure consistency and operational excellence
Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of warehouse and operational staff
Ensure full compliance with OSHA and safety regulations; conduct regular safety meetings and audits
Monitor inventory accuracy, conduct quarterly audits, and optimize stock levels to meet customer demand
Collaborate with internal departments including sales, logistics, and production to align operational goals
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with suppliers and transportation providers
Maintain fleet compliance and oversee box truck maintenance at each site, including DOT compliance
Oversee facilities management including safety, security, and OSHA compliance
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Maintain quality control standards for all products and ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
Manage reporting processes related to productivity, inventory levels, safety, and staffing
Travel quarterly to each warehouse location to assess operations and support local management
Provide leadership and team development support to ensure high-performance standards
Requirements:
5+ years of warehouse or operations management experience, preferably in stair parts, millwork, lumber, or building materials industry
Strong understanding of wood and metal materials (e.g., maple, cherry, oak, iron, steel)
Proven leadership ability managing multi-site teams
Experience with inventory systems and warehouse management software (WMS); familiarity with QuickBooks preferred
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best safety practices
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
Ability to travel quarterly to warehouses across the United States
