Job Description
- Own all accounting and financial operations across a wide range of domestic and international entities
- Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Oversee investment accounting across public securities (including options and derivatives), private equity, hedge funds, and real estate
- Track capital calls, distributions, and perform waterfall calculations
- Review and interpret subscription and fund documents
- Supervise a junior controller/bookkeeper and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Ensure compliance with global trust structures, and support trust accounting
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting processes, and reporting accuracy
- Support operational cash management, funding allocation, and intercompany activity
- Contribute to ongoing optimization of proprietary reporting and accounting systems
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience (family office, fund accounting, trust/estate structures, or investment firms strongly preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with capital calls, distributions, and waterfall modeling
- Able to interpret fund documents and subscription agreements
- Exposure to public securities (options, swaps, ETFs), alternatives, and private investments
- Experience with domestic and international trust structures
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with principals
- Must have a long-tenure career history (job-hoppers will not be considered)
