Senior Vice President of Finance

Ascension Search Partners has been engaged by a fast-growing, upper middle market private equity-backed organization with a strong trajectory of success to hire an SVP of Finance.  The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment. As the SVP of Finance, you'll play a key role in shaping and executing the financial strategy to support rapid growth, enhance profitability, and drive operational excellence. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll partner with senior leadership to tackle complex challenges, build scalable financial systems, and lead a high-performance finance team through a period of transformative growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy in partnership with the CFO, CEO, and Board, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth objectives.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, providing actionable insights on key performance indicators and operational performance.
  • M&A & Capital Allocation: Lead financial due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition management. Optimize capital structure and allocate resources effectively across business units.
  • Financial Reporting & Governance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, establishing strong financial controls.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital: Oversee cash management strategies, ensuring optimal liquidity and capital allocation for growth initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, driving a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present financial performance and strategic insights to the Board, private equity sponsors, and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role within a private equity-backed, multi-unit company
  • Private Equity Expertise: Proven success in private equity environments with strong financial modeling and reporting capabilities.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence key decisions and lead cross-functional teams in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Expertise in cash flow management, financial analysis, and business performance metrics.
  • Systems & Technology: Proficiency in financial reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, advanced Excel). 
  • Agility & Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a proven track record of managing competing priorities and leading through ambiguity.
