Ascension Search Partners has been engaged to hire a Chief Financial Officer for a privately held healthcare services company in DFW. The CFO will act as a strategic and operational business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, helping to shape and implement the company’s long-term strategic vision. The CFO will professionalize and lead a high-performing finance and accounting function, optimizing people, systems, and processes to support continued expansion and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and help shape and execute the company's strategic direction.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the company’s finance and accounting organization and drive continuous process improvements across the function.
  • Develop and manage key financial and operational metrics and dashboards to support executive decision-making and drive accountability.
  • Establish scalable processes for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Manage and optimize organizational cash flow with a focus on forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Lead management and board-level financial reporting and the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring insights align with strategic goals and performance targets.
  • Manage the accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead the annual audit process and regulatory compliance, achieving clean year-end audits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external financing partners, including lenders and financial institutions.
  • Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to proactively identify and execute actions that drive profitable growth, gain market share, improve operational efficiencies, and increase productivity
  • Provide data-driven scenario analysis and modeling to support business planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-caliber finance team; develop talent and align resources for current and future needs.
  • Stay informed on industry and economic trends to inform recommendations and strategic positioning.

Background & Experience

  • Proven experience as CFO or Senior Finance Leader in a high-growth, multi-location business, ideally in healthcare or related service sector.
  • CPA, public accounting and/or investment banking experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of continuous process improvements and implementation of best practices.
  • Deep understanding of capital structures and experience managing lender relationships.
  • Expertise in acquisitions, including due diligence, deal execution, and post-transaction integration.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on building and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Experience presenting to boards, working with investors, and supporting private equity ownership.
