Ascension  Search Partners has been exclusively retained by a small, publicly traded SEC-filing company to identify a highly skilled Controller to join their team in a 100% remote capacity. This strategic role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by overseeing the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily accounting operations, including oversight of two bookkeepers.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor additional accounting staff as needed.
  • Prepare internal and external financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth and compliant audits.
  • Manage regulatory reporting and compliance efforts.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure reliable financial reporting.
  • Certify the accuracy of quarterly and annual reports, ensuring no material misstatements.
  • Confirm reports do not omit any material facts and reflect the company’s position accurately.
  • Oversee and verify the company's compliance procedures are in place and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Familiarity with SEC filings and related compliance standards is highly desirable.
