Ascension Search Partners has been engaged by to hire a Vice President to join our investment team of a DFW based private equity firm. The VP will lead the full deal lifecycle — from origination to exit. This is a high-impact, high role for a proven investor-operator who thrives in fast-moving environments and can both think strategically and execute correctly. The VP will also manage a group of Associates.

The ideal candidate will bring transactional experience with an entrepreneurial mindset. You’ll work directly with senior leadership to source and evaluate opportunities, drive diligence, negotiate and close transactions, and support post-close value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Source, evaluate, and lead execution of new investments
Manage all aspects of the transaction process, including diligence, financial modeling, valuation, structuring, and execution
Develop clear investment theses and present actionable recommendations to the Investment Committee
Coordinate legal, financial, and operational advisors to manage deal process from start to close
Partner with management teams post-close to execute growth and operational initiatives
Monitor portfolio performance, support follow-on investments, and contribute to exit strategy planning and execution
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering strong technical and commercial skills

What We’re Looking For

6–8 years of experience in investing, inclusive of investment banking and private equity or principal investing
Demonstrated track record of successful deal execution and value creation
Strong financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills
Familiarity with the manufacturing, consumer, industrials, and services industries preferred
Relentlessly resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity and speed
High ownership mentality
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex transactions
Entrepreneurial drive with leadership ability and a passion for building businesses
