Key Responsibilities:
Perform accounting functions related to joint ventures, including monthly/quarterly distributions, contributions, and income allocations
Track equity accounts for joint ventures, including waterfalls and HLBV calculations
Prepare reconciliations for equity method investments and noncontrolling interests (EIE/NCI)
Partner with other departments to prepare transactional journal entries for acquisitions and dispositions; assist in reviewing purchase price allocations
Contribute to the preparation and analysis of shareholder equity, including stock-based compensation
Track and report UPREIT OP unit statements, and calculate distributions and income allocations
Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidating journal entries with the corporate accounting team
Support quarterly reviews and annual audits by managing internal and external audit requests
Prepare and review 10-Q/K disclosures and supporting reporting schedules
Manage Reg G/Non-GAAP reconciliations and reporting
Prepare and review joint venture financial statements for quarterly and annual reporting; coordinate stand-alone audits as needed
Assist in the preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flows and related supporting schedules
Conduct technical accounting research and present findings as needed
Execute special projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Accounting major strongly preferred
Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience at a Big 4 firm
CPA or actively pursuing CPA designation (required)
Strong understanding of complex corporate structures and consolidations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet modeling
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with Yardi is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to make informed business recommendations
Team-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
