Tidal Basin seeks a Closeout Specialist to join the team supporting our client. The position will assist in one or more programs that provide temporary housing and temporary or permanent repairs to damaged homes in the recovery from Hurricane Ian. This position represents an exceptional opportunity to join an expert team to facilitate change and help make a lasting difference.     

 

Duties / Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing a case file’s costs and supporting documentation against the corresponding grant’s scope of work (SOW) to reconcile estimated costs with actual costs of the completed, approved grant SOW.
  • Researching details of contracts, invoices, payment logs, timesheets, purchase orders, procurement, and other documentation to help resolve situations when actual costs do not clearly align with the completed approved grant SOW.
  • Monitoring processes that assure federal post-award grant compliance requirements are being met by state agencies and local jurisdictions on issues such as contract procurement; environmental and historic preservation; adjustments based on insurance requirements; and adjustments based on SOW changes.

Required Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • At least two (2) years of full-time work experience post undergraduate degree completion.
  • Fundamental understanding of finance and accounting principles with the ability to document/consolidate data from detailed source documentation (timesheets, equipment records, invoices, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Prior experience performing financial closeout duties related. (Preferred)
  • Financial auditing experience related to government funding, non-profit grant management, and/or general business operations. (Preferred)
  • Business, financial, and/or government consulting experience. (Preferred)
