Our client is a leading global manufacturer of synthetic filaments for a diverse range of applications, such as advanced technical textiles, technical bristles, and dental care filaments.

 

The Managing Director will be located near Columbia, SC.

 

The ideal candidate will have management and sales leadership experience, along with plastic extrusion or filament production experience. German language skills are highly desired.

Summary:

 

As Managing Director, you will be leading and developing a highly motivated and professional sales and operations team for one of the largest filament companies in the world, with an international and modern working culture.

 

 

Tasks:

 

·       Responsible for the Logistics, Sales, Finance, HR, Plant, Procurement Quality and Process Engineering functions at the North America site.

·       Work closely with the global segment heads to promote and sell synthetic filaments, with an initial focus on their advanced technical textiles business in the North American market. 

·       Work closely with the present Sales Director - North America, who will report to you and the global segment heads.

·       Lead and drive the business development work with the main target to identify new attractive opportunities and to expand profitably the North American overall sales.

·       Work closely with the CFO for P&L.

·       Lead all Operational functions; drive the overall performance improvement initiatives at the Lexington site.

·       Represent the company at customers and partners in North America.

 

Requirements:

 

·       Bachelor´s degree

·       A good understanding of the relevant customer markets; prior experience from the monofilament industry or any customer market would be beneficial.

·       Management and sales leadership experience.

·       Knowledge in plastic extrusion or filament production.

·       Good verbal and written communication skills in both German and English language required

·       In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, good follow-up skills related to internal and external customers.

·       Employee motivation techniques.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to drive company success.

·       Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

·       SAP knowledge and CRM experience preferred.

·       Ability to travel internationally once a year.
