Our client is a tier 1 automotive supplier located near Spartanburg, SC.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience leading a multi-shift production team, along with the ability to motivate while keeping the team accountable. 

(Reports to VP Operations)

 

Summary:

The Production Manager will be focused on key performance indicators, quality management systems, continuous improvement, and will work cross functionally with Human Resources to recruit, onboard, and train future workforce.

 

Tasks:

·       Responsibility for all manufacturing operations, facilities, and personnel.

·       Manufacturing, Production Planning & Control, Quality Assurance, Safety, Compliance, Engineering, Maintenance & Repair, New Product Development and Capital Expenditures.

·       Develop, monitor, and approve annual manufacturing budget, take corrective and/or remedial action based on thorough analysis and review of monthly budget variances.

·       Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to meet all manufacturing as well as corporate goals and objectives and optimize corporate performance and customer satisfaction.

·       Hands-on participation in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of all key manufacturing personnel and, occasionally, others as necessary and appropriate.

·       Supervise, manage, and direct daily activities of manufacturing management team and all functional department heads and utilize Performance Management System to establish individual goals and objectives, track progress and evaluate performance.

·       Expand, relocate, and modernize the company’s manufacturing facilities and overall footprint, as necessary and appropriate, to minimize operating and distribution costs and build a world class manufacturing network.

·       Key role in OEM and related machinery and equipment specification, sourcing, evaluation, and purchase as well as new product development.

·       Continuous and step change improvement in all manufacturing operations and pursues manufacturing excellence using various lean and related advanced tools and methodologies.

·       Defines, establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operations.

 

Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in Engineering/ Supply Chain/ Operations.

·       5-10 years of leadership experience within manufacturing environment.

·       Automotive manufacturing industry experience.

·       Metal stamping manufacturing preferred.

·       Demonstrated leadership of safety initiatives that drive a zero-injury culture.

·       Understand and apply continuous improvement principles and practices including Lean Manufacturing- TPM and/or Lean Six Sigma.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Experience influencing and working with cross functional teams.

·       Experience building & enabling high performing teams delivering exceptional results on a consistent basis.

·       Growth and continuous learning and development mindset.
