Job Title:          Business Development Manager - Automation Systems

Reports To:      Vice President 

FLSA Status:    Salary - Exempt

 

We are working with our client based out of Charlotte, NC to fill a remote Business Development Manager position.

 

The German based family owned business founded their US subsidiary in 2000 in Charlotte North Carolina.

 

As a preferred supplier in the automation industry, they are recognized as a technological leader in this global market.

Especially in the rapidly growing market of battery pack assembly, either for e-mobility or everyday life applications like electric bikes, lawnmower, power tools, etc., the company offers innovative solutions in form of stand-alone products as well as full turnkey solutions.

The US subsidiary supports the sales and service of their highly modular automation solutions, accessories and spare parts as well as assistance for installation and startup of machinery. Cost reduction through flexible automation is the key to optimizing productivity and output and thus the efficiency of modern manufacturing processes.

 

The ideal candidate would have experience working with system integrators, automation suppliers particularly in battery pack assembly with an existing network of contacts in relevant industries.

This position is planned to be remote anywhere on the East side of the Mississippi.

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

       Establish and expand the relationships with new and existing customers by continuous direct personal customer contact and proposing solutions that meet their objectives

       Acquire a complete understanding of customer needs and requirements by collecting and analyzing client data, structure and process info 

       Creating of quotations and negotiating contract details with clients

       Responsible for developing and achieving of sales goals through direct sales channels and on-site customer contact

       Actively direct and oversee sales network including representatives / dealers

       Managing communications between clients, internal teams and headquarter in Germany

       Collaborating with sales teams and partners to maximize profits by up-selling or cross-selling

       Creating and presenting reports on account progress, goals and quarterly initiatives

       Participate in and contribute to regular sales, strategy meetings and trade shows / events

       Perform regular visits to all customer sites, office in Charlotte and HQ in Germany

       Anticipated Amount of Travel: 50%, domestic and international, mainly USMCA area and occasionally to Germany / Europe 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):

       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automation industry 

       Proven track record in delivering solutions based on customer needs and meeting sales goals

       Strong negotiation skills with ability to follow-through on client contracts

       Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a peopleperson with an aptitude in building relationships with professionals on all organizational levels 

       Highly self-motivated and self-directed

       Computer skills (Microsoft office suite) required, and ideally experience with CRM systems

       Valid U.S. driver’s license

 

Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience):

       Strong knowledge and background in the automation industry with a detailed understanding of assembly, packaging, inspection and related processes

       Strong knowledge of the battery cell assembly and manufacturing industry

       Previous experience in Account Management, Business Development or Territory Sales

       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business administration, sales, or relevant field

       German and / or Spanish language skills

       This is a remote position and does not require relocation to the Charlotte, NC area.
