Job Description:

Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in advanced technology solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist in Hardware and ASIC Engineering to join their team in Anaheim, CA. This role is integral to the development of next-generation military GPS, Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) technology, and RF hardware solutions that support a variety of applications across land, air, sea, and space environments.

This position offers an opportunity to drive ASIC and Hardware Engineering initiatives by providing expert-level guidance in design, development, testing, and manufacturing of complex electronic systems. The selected candidate will play a key role in advancing cutting-edge defense and commercial technology while collaborating with top industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical leadership in ASIC and hardware development, ensuring innovative and efficient solutions for mission-critical systems.

  • Spearhead ASIC architecture, RTL coding, synthesis, simulation, emulation, power analysis, placement, routing, layout, and timing efforts.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in military GPS, MGNSS, and other PNT technologies, providing deep technical insight and strategic direction.

  • Utilize state-of-the-art ASIC software tools, including Palladium, Xcelium, Genus, Indago, JasperGold, and Conformal XL, to optimize development processes.

  • Lead ASIC teams in delivering high-performance solutions with 100,000,000+ gates/transistors while maintaining efficiency, power consumption, thermal stability, and longevity.

  • Troubleshoot and refine ASIC designs in a hardware lab environment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Enhance system processes through continuous improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and effectiveness across engineering teams.

  • Maintain open communication with internal leadership, stakeholders, and external partners to align engineering efforts with business objectives.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support program execution and business development efforts.

  • Work on-site in Anaheim, CA, with up to 10% travel as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field with 15+ years of experience OR a Graduate degree with 13+ years of experience.

    • In lieu of a degree, 19+ years of industry experience will be considered.

  • 20+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC Engineering and Signal Processing, including development, testing, and manufacturing for defense and commercial applications.

  • Extensive expertise in ASIC architecture, digital design, and full development lifecycle from concept to production.

  • Strong leadership experience, guiding teams to meet technical, schedule, and budget requirements while fostering collaboration.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, customers, and program stakeholders.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Preferred Skills & Expertise:

  • Recognized ASIC industry leader with extensive contributions to the field.

  • Deep understanding of ASIC performance metrics, including power consumption, thermal characteristics, and packaging considerations.

  • Experience with military GPS, multi-GNSS systems, and advanced PNT technologies.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex ASIC designs in a hands-on lab environment.

  • Active DoD SECRET clearance preferred.
