Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

• 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:

  • Geriatric Care

  • Senior Care

  • Geriatric/LTC

• 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:

  • Hospice

  • Healthcare

  • Palliative Care

• Valid MT-BC

• Valid Music Therapy License in the state of Michigan (MI)

Overview

Our Award Winning Client is seeking a compassionate Hospice Music Therapist to provide professional music therapy to patients in accordance with company protocols. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree, current Board certification, and relevant experience in geriatric and end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices

• Effectively inform and educate patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy

• Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment

• Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and aid in planning subsequent sessions

• Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening

• Encourage patients to participate in sessions and support them by responding musically and improvising to provide comfort during the last stages of life

• Support the patient’s creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being

Schedule and Shift Details

• Work schedule and shift expectations will be provided during the interview process.

• Location: Troy, MI region (1-hour radius)

We Are Looking for a Compassionate Hospice Music Therapist With:

• Bachelor of Music Therapy degree

• Current Board Certification (MT-BC) according to the U.S. Certification Board for Music Therapists

• State Music Therapy Licensing (where required)

• At least six (6) months of work/education experience in geriatric healthcare

• At least six (6) months of work/education experience in end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare
