About the Role

Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in sustainable manufacturing, is seeking an experienced EHS&S Manager to oversee environmental health, safety, and sustainability initiatives at their Franklin Mill facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards while fostering a proactive safety culture. Additionally, the selected individual will be instrumental in regulatory communications and collaboration with the local community.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective systems, training, and procedures to maintain a workplace free from environmental and safety incidents.

  • Drive continuous improvements in EHS programs, reinforcing engagement and compliance.

  • Lead hazard identification and remediation efforts, overseeing critical safety and environmental risk mitigation initiatives.

  • Ensure adherence to industry, local, and national safety and environmental standards.

  • Oversee environmental compliance programs related to air, water, solid, and hazardous waste management.

  • Coordinate and manage regulatory reporting and required permits.

  • Serve as a bridge between corporate safety directives and local site implementation.

  • Support employee development by mentoring safety coordinators and fostering future leaders.

  • Encourage a workplace culture that prioritizes learning and proactive safety measures.

  • Track and manage safety initiatives, focusing on key objectives such as preventing severe injuries and fatalities.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement efforts within the environmental and safety space.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of EHS experience within manufacturing, including a strong environmental compliance background.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (expertise preferred).

  • Paper/Pulp industry experience is mandatory.

  • Effective leadership with strong decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to think strategically while implementing problem-solving solutions.

  • Skilled in delivering impactful presentations and communicating safety initiatives.

  • High level of interpersonal engagement to drive collaboration at all organizational levels.
