Environmental Regulatory Manager - Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the federal and state environmental permitting process for complex LNG, pipeline, and other projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership on navigating complex permitting challenges.
  • Oversee efficient management of a team handling environmental permitting tasks.
  • Ensure environmental compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, internal teams, and external organizations.

Key Duties:

  • Lead the development and execution of environmental permit applications for projects requiring problem-solving, creativity, and judgment.
  • Identify and secure environmental permits for various project stages, including Natural Gas Act Section 3 and Section 7 projects before FERC.
  • Interface with government agencies, manage field and visits, and coordinate environmental inspections.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, quality control, and reporting for permitting tasks.
  • Lead meetings, working groups, and individual engagements to achieve targeted regulatory outcomes.
  • Collaborate with management and teams to solve significant project challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in federal and state environmental permitting within the oil and gas sector (Louisiana experience preferred).
  • Strong leadership, administrative, and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory programs for LNG terminals, pipelines, and similar projects.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and programs efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
