Our client is expanding to a new location and is seeking commercial laundry experienced leadership candidates for a great opportunity with a growing laundry and textile service company that will be based in the Ballston Spa/Saratoga Springs, NY area.

Job Summary:The Sales and Service Manager (or General Manager) will lead the team to meet or exceed established goals, has full operational responsibility including P&L, and has direct responsibility for growing the business by selling new accounts and retaining existing business. This leader is hands-on with Production, Customer Service and Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct report oversight of Production Supervisor, Front Office Manager, Route Drivers, and their teams.
  • Team and employee safety is to be the highest priority
  • Identify prospective customers/generate leads via cold-calling, prospecting, and networking. This manager will be responsible for cold calling and selling new accounts which include hotels, restaurants, and other businesses.
  • Maintain an active new business sales funnel (prospecting, cold calls, appointments)
  • P&L responsibility - Learn all financial reports and drive for results using the data
  • Establishes major goals, policies, and procedures to improve functions
  • Develop accountability mechanisms that drive key initiatives (growth, customer retention, new business/sales, productivity, and profitability)
  • Oversee HR including hiring, developing, and retaining talent, as well as holding team members accountable to performance standards and company policies.
  • Ensures a continuous process of reviewing, analyzing and evaluating employee performance
  • Holding manager/employee meetings to communicate company direction, policies and recognition
  • Oversee vendors and contractor services
  • Regularly visits customers and builds rapport and relationships with hospitality (resort/hotel) leaders. Review service, quality, and contracts. Responsible for renewal of customer contracts
  • Addresses any customer issues/complaints. Maintains customer satisfaction by problem-solving any concerns.
  • Shares knowledge, experience and best practices with clients in regards to linen handling, inventory levels, linen losses, etc.Monitors and collects past due receivables from customers as needed
  • Coordinate installation of new accounts with production, sales, and other departments
  • Interact daily with department heads, supervisors, and owners.
Requirements:
  • Must have 4+ years of related experience in the commercial laundry industry (GM, Sales Manager, Service Manager, etc)
  • Experience selling to and/or managing large accounts, preferably in the hospitality/hotel industry
  • Strong leadership skills and experience directly managing a team
  • Experience driving and improving productive plant operations
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Tech savvy
