Our client is searching for a Corporate Engineering Manager (Chief Engineer Manager) for a commercial laundry (linen service/uniform service) operation in the Western United States.
 
This position travels to plants in multiple western states, but will be based in Irvine, California. Relocation is required and relocation assistance is provided.
 
We're seeking laundry experienced (5+ years commercial laundry maintenance experience and team leadership experience) candidates for a great opportunity. As a Corporate Engineering Manager, you'll oversee maintenance, engineering, technical design, capital improvements, and process improvements, generally optimizing the complex processes and systems to minimize waste.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies.
  • Develop strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and/or operational process
  • Support site maintenance staff (Chief Engineers) to work through any equipment and engineering issues
  • Travel (with overnight stays) to plants across the country, mostly in the Western United States. Travel percentage expected is 25%.
  • Manage medium to large capital projects from concept through completion
  • Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
  • Determine the need for training and talent development.
  • Assure that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
  • Maintains relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Schedule: Approximately 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday, approx 7am-5pm
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance engineering experience in the commercial laundry industry.
  • Experience as a Chief Engineer or Corporate Engineer or Engineering Manager, preferably in a multi-plant environment
  • BS in engineering preferred
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
  • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel
  • Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Willing to relocate to Irvine, CA area (relocation assistance available)
