Systems Engineers utilize strong technical expertise and effective communication skills to provide hardware, software, and network support for enterprise customers. They resolve complex technical problems and manage the timely and satisfactory delivery of planned projects to the organization. Systems Engineers design and implement unique solutions to meet the evolving needs of internal and external stakeholders. They listen carefully to the customer, understand the relevant issues, and execute the most appropriate response.

 Job Responsibilities:

·        Provides technical support for the daily operations and maintenance of server, storage and networking equipment, security appliances, cabling, and site facilities

·        Manages projects to completion, including planned installs and upgrades of server hardware, software, storage and networking products

·        Ensures compliance with company security protocols, technical requirements, and quality standards to deliver the highest degree of customer satisfaction

·        Escalates problems to appropriate resources within service-level parameters

·        Documents progress on all task orders in ticket system and provides customer updates in real time

·        Performs after-hours and weekend troubleshooting/installs during maintenance windows

·        Coordinates efforts across internal teams and outside vendors to deliver desirable outcomes for customers

·        Administrates VMware vSphere tech lab environment, remediating host vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance of all virtual machines with required standards

·        Packages, deploys, and troubleshoots software patches using Microsoft SCCM

·        Completes assigned computer-based training as required

·        May be required to be “on call” at scheduled times

·        Develops/maintains client relationships, identifying opportunities to extend existing agreements

·        Communicates sales leads

Physical Demands:

·        Ability to carry and lift up to 70 pounds

·        Ability to travel to customer sites

·        Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment

·        Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person

·        Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from one office location to another

Work Environment:

Work is often performed in a remote office setting

May require travel to and from customer sites to complete tasks

Education:

High School Diploma required

Strong technical background required

3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience

Technology & Skill Requirements:

·        CompTIA  A+ and Server + Certifications required

·        HP & Dell Manufactures Server Certifications preferred

·        Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system preferred

·        In depth knowledge of HP & Dell Server hardware, including blade servers and rack configurations

·        In depth knowledge of server utilities used to configure, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot hardware

·        Basic knowledge of HP Storage Works products (ex: HP MSA & MSL)

·        Basic knowledge of Microsoft products and hardware clustering

·        Ability to design and implement technology solutions for new and existing products/applications

·        Ability to manage multiple projects from start to completion

·        Ability to communicate effectively with customers & internal staff

·        Strong organizational and time-management skills
