POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled VA/VE Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for driving innovation and efficiency across our engineering and supply chain processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) projects, ensuring cost-effective and strategic sourcing of materials, and optimizing product development processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for materials and components to support production needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, logistics, and manufacturing to ensure timely project execution and product launches.
- Lead and manage VA/VE projects, working closely with various business units to streamline operations and enhance cost efficiency.
- Cultivate strong supplier relationships, conduct site visits, and foster cross-business synergies using both domestic and international supply chains.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking studies to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement across the enterprise.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among stakeholders to ensure alignment on product requirements, specifications, and timelines.
- Lead efforts in sourcing, quoting, and negotiating requirements for prototypes and production materials.
- Analyze quotes for cost efficiency, including considerations for material, tooling, tariffs, and logistics.
- Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance procurement services and reduce total cost of ownership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and engineering project management.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineered environment, with a strong understanding of VA/VE principles and product improvement strategies.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and long lead-time product deliveries.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills, with a thorough understanding of financial impacts and purchasing law.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and previous ERP/MRP system experience.
- Willingness to travel domestically 25-50% is required.
