We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant with experience in grant accounting and proficiency in Sage Intacct to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage grant-related financial activities, ensure compliance with funding requirements, and support overall accounting operations. This role requires strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and financial reporting for grant-funded projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and manage grant funds, ensuring expenditures align with grant requirements and budgets.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors in compliance with federal, state, and private funding regulations.
  • Monitor grant spending and provide financial analysis to project managers and leadership.
  • Assist with grant audits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to funding agreements.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations related to grants and general operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and financial controls.
  • Utilize Sage Intacct for financial data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Assist with system enhancements, troubleshooting, and process improvements within Sage Intacct.
  • Generate financial reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, particularly for grant-funded programs.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper allocation and tracking of grant funds.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on grant accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct or other cloud-based ERP accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and grant compliance regulations.
  • Experience with nonprofit accounting and federal grant reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • CPA, CMA, or CGFM certification (or working toward certification) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal and state grant requirements and reporting.
