Intellect Resources is looking for a Financial Planning Analyst who supports the mission of the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) by providing comprehensive financial planning, forecasting, and data analysis to enhance decision-making and ensure financial sustainability. This is a long term contract opportunity. This role collaborates with clinical, operational, and executive teams to evaluate financial performance, optimize resource allocation, and support strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and grant reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports with variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Partner with department heads to monitor budget adherence and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze cost trends, patient revenue, payer mix, and operational KPIs specific to FQHC environments (e.g., UDS reporting, sliding fee scales).
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Support grant management through budget tracking, financial reporting, and cost allocation analysis.
  • Provide financial support for strategic initiatives, including service line expansion, patient access improvements, and value-based care models.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for HRSA and other funding sources.
  • Participate in financial audits and ensure compliance with federal guidelines and internal controls.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as requested by leadership.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA/MBA preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant financial analysis or planning experience, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
  • Strong understanding of FQHC operations, grant funding, and healthcare reimbursement models.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems; familiarity with Sage Intacct, NextGen, or eClinicalWorks a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
