We are seeking a Data Interoperability Consultant with expertise in EHR (Electronic Health Record) integration to lead and support data migration initiatives between healthcare systems and other platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) healthcare data, as well as deep knowledge of EHR systems, interoperability standards, and data quality assurance.

You will collaborate with technical teams, healthcare providers, and vendors to ensure secure, accurate, and efficient data migration that supports business continuity and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.).

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead data migration and integration projects between legacy systems, third-party applications, and EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, etc.).
• Design and implement ETL processes to move and transform structured and unstructured healthcare data.
• Perform data mapping, validation, and quality assurance to ensure data integrity across systems.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather migration requirements, develop migration plans, and manage project timelines.
• Utilize integration technologies (e.g., HL7 interfaces, FHIR APIs, CCD/CCDA files, SQL, flat files) to facilitate data exchange.
• Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, interface errors, and migration failures.
• Document migration processes, transformation logic, and post-migration validation results.
• Ensure all data handling complies with HIPAA and organizational security standards.

Key Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in data migration, ETL, or integration projects (preferably in a healthcare or EHR environment).
• Strong understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCDA, ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED).
• Proficiency in SQL and data transformation tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica, Mirth Connect, or similar).
• Experience with one or more major EHR platforms.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
