IR is looking for a MEDITECH RCM Technical Programmer who is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting technical solutions that enhance revenue cycle performance within the MEDITECH EHR environment. This role combines strong MEDITECH system expertise, revenue cycle domain knowledge, and advanced programming skills to optimize workflows, ensure data integrity, and enable efficient billing, claims, and financial operations.

Key Responsibilities': 

  • Development & Programming
  • Design, build, and maintain custom NPR, RD, and integrated MEDITECH reports related to Patient Access, HIM, Billing, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Develop scripts, interfaces, and automation tools to support RCM processes and improve data flow between MEDITECH and external systems.
  • Implement and maintain data extracts, dashboards, and analytics to support revenue cycle KPIs and operational reporting.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, defects, and data discrepancies within MEDITECH RCM modules.
  • Optimize MEDITECH workflows for scheduling, registration, coding, billing, charge capture, claims submission, and collections.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership to enhance system configuration and recommend process improvements.
  • Build and maintain interfaces using HL7, FHIR, or other integration tools (e.g., Mirth, MEDITECH Data Repository).
  • Ensure accurate data exchange across clearinghouses, payers, third-party vendors, and internal applications.
  • Monitor interface performance and resolve data transmission issues.
  • Participate in RCM and IT projects, including system upgrades, module implementations, and workflow redesign efforts.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of direct experience programming in MEDITECH (NPR, RD, Data Repository, or Expanse).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, workflows, and data structures.
  • Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and data modeling.
  • Experience with interface/integration engines (HL7, FHIR, APIs).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
