CooperDouglas is partnering with a high-growth, publicly traded consumer brand to identify a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead the company’s revenue function as it scales and matures. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role you will be tasked to elevate revenue accounting practices, drive compliance with ASC 606, and build structure around contract review, month-end close, and the company’s evolving go-to-market strategies. This is a strategic role for a revenue leader ready to step into a true business-partnering seat. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical depth and executive-level presence, with the ability to scale infrastructure, mentor talent, and help drive this brand’s next phase of growth.

What You’ll Own

  • Oversee all aspects of revenue recognition and close-related activities, ensuring accurate financial statements and full ASC 606 compliance
  • Own SOX compliance as it relates to revenue; establish and maintain strong internal controls
  • Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate new product launches, strategic promotions, and complex commercial agreements for revenue impact
  • Lead contract reviews and reserve methodology assessments, balancing technical rigor with business practicality
  • Collaborate with FP&A to align forecasts and budget assumptions with accounting treatment
  • Work closely with AR and order-to-cash functions to ensure proper classification of credits, contra revenue, and GL impact
  • Implement process improvements and accounting systems/tools to streamline revenue operations and reduce manual work
  • Support external financial audits and partner with Tax and SEC teams on revenue disclosures and tax provision inputs
  • Build, coach, and lead a lean but high-performing team; set clear expectations and drive accountability

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of public accounting and corporate
  • Public company experience required, ecommerce, CPG, retail, or distribution highly preferred
  • Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, especially ASC 606
  • Advanced on order-to-cash processes
  • Fluency in high-volume ecommerce environments a plus
  • Hands-on leader with proven experience mentoring teams, managing deadlines, and thriving in fast-paced environments
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or leading revenue systems implementations is a plus

Compensation range $170,000 - 190,000 + bonus + more!
