Are you a licensed CPA who would like to co-own a small acccounting and payroll company that offers its services to small nonprofits? As Compliance Director, reporting to the CEO, you will be Co-Leader in the company, in a role that will allow you to succeed the founder within two years as a Co-Owner of the company. You will empower nonprofit missions through full-service accounting.
What you'll do:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with professional standards, IRS, and other federal, state, and local regulations affecting the firm and its clients
- Review client's month-end workpapers, adjustments, and prepared and compiled financial statements
- Manage the firm's peer review process
- Develop and maintain the System of Quality Management
- Conduct regular internal audits
- Review client's month-end workpapers, adjustments, and prepared and compiled financial statements
- Provide client support for budgeting, grant applicationns and reporting, and worker's compensation audits
- Gain knowledge and expertise in Form 990 preparation, working with the firm's tax concierge to ensure accurate and timely submission
- Provide on going compliance training to staff on GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and regulatory updates
- Maintain KPIs and report metrics to staff
- Monitor the firm's ACDC (Attract, Convert, Deliver, and Collect) metrics; report to staff and faciitate improvement
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance tracking
- Maintain a highly collabortive approach to client service delivery.
What you'll bring:
- Active CPA license
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in pupblic accounting preferred in audit or tax or both
- Strong belief in diveristy, equity, and inclusion
- High emotional intelligence
- Very people oriented
