Play an integral part of a growing family- owned business that has been in business for over 115 years.  As Human Resources Manager, reporting to the Co-CEO, with one direct report you will support 267 employees which includes both a union and non-union workforce.  You will be the role model for a culture that focuses on family, quality, team, integrity, and safety. You will join a talented  group of employees who give their customers a quality product each and every time.

 

You will:

  • Monitor and ensure the company's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, union agreements, regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.  Communicates changes in policies, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Actively recruit to attract a diverse set of suitable candidates through job fairs, personal interaction, databases, online employment forums, and social media
  • Handle personnel investigations, discipline, and termination of employees
  • Administer health care benefits for non-union employees
  • Work closely with management to address employee issues and answer employee relations concerns
  • Successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement

 

As  a stand-out candidate you will have:

  • College degree
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Union-affiliated workforce experience a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources Management experience
  • Demonstrated high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and the ability to effectively recruit
  • Ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
  • High degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
  • Experience with ATS or HRIS system
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
