A leading AmLaw 50 firm is seeking a talented mid-senior level Associate Attorney to join its prestigious Transportation & Space Finance practice in New York. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge and high-value transactions involving aircraft, railcars, ships, satellites, and other specialized asset classes within a sophisticated and collaborative environment.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing.
  • 5–8 years of substantive experience in structured finance, securitization, or secured lending.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex finance transactions, including acquisition and leveraged financing, securities offerings, and leasing transactions.
  • Knowledge of asset-backed securitizations and structured financings related to transportation assets or other esoteric asset classes.
  • Proven ability to handle end-to-end deal execution in a fast-paced, transactional practice.
  • Strong client service skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate multi-party negotiations.
  • Desire to focus on innovative transactions involving high-value transportation and space-related assets.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate finance agreements, lease documents, offering memoranda, and security documentation.
  • Advise on all aspects of structured and secured finance transactions involving aircraft, ships, railcars, and other specialized assets.
  • Structure and negotiate complex leasing, lending, and capital markets transactions tailored to the unique characteristics of transportation and space assets.
  • Represent financial institutions, investment funds, lessors, lessees, and other industry players on transactional and regulatory aspects of asset finance deals.
  • Collaborate with international teams and clients on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional financings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Highly Competitive Salary: $310,000 – $435,000, commensurate with experience.
