CONSTRUCTION TRANSACTIONAL ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

A top-10 AmLaw firm is seeking a driven Associate Attorney to join its Real Estate Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge commercial, energy, and large infrastructure projects, drafting and negotiating complex agreements that shape the built environment. Candidates will gain immediate responsibility, work closely with experienced partners, and have exposure to both transactional and dispute-related matters.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 3–4 years of substantive experience in construction transactional law
  • Experience drafting and negotiating design, construction, consulting, and development agreements across industries
  • Experience with EPC contracts in the energy sector strongly preferred
  • Prior experience at a large/mid-sized AmLaw 100 law firm or the SEC
  • Background handling construction litigation or arbitration matters is a plus
  • Soft Skills: Excellent writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, consulting, and development agreements across sectors
  • Draft and negotiate EPC contracts for energy and infrastructure projects
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work, delays, and construction defect issues
  • Support litigation and arbitration teams in construction disputes, including pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, and hearings
  • Deliver high-quality, timely work product with attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary is expected to range from $260,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors. Discretionary bonus opportunities are also available.
