The Project Manager oversees all phases of construction projects including budgets, schedules, communicating with clients, and invoicing.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Project Planning & Execution

·        Provide all project-specific information to the superintendent, foreman, and field operators, including specs, schedules, material take-offs, gravel quantities, and time budget expectations.

·        Maintain short and long-term project schedules in JobTread.

·        Keep budget, schedule, specifications, files and to dos up to date in JobTread project management software and Busy Busy time tracking software.

·        Visit job sites as needed to obtain progress and schedule updates from the field team.

·        Collaborate with field leadership to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.

·        Work closely with the superintendent and foreman to identify and submit change orders promptly.

·        Ensure all materials and submittals are approved and documented appropriately.

·        Maintain thorough documentation of jobsite conditions, including issues that could result in liability such as plan errors, changes, settling, or water problems.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

·        Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding scope, schedule, budget, and liabilities.

·        Provide written follow-up on any safety concerns, scope changes, or liability issues.

·        Address questions, concerns, and complaints throughout each project’s lifecycle.

Financial Management & Reporting

·        Review and analyze project margins monthly to ensure objectives are met.

·        Prepare detailed monthly invoices for clients, including updated percent completion, costs, change orders, and plug-in values.

·        Submit monthly cost and revenue projections to the Senior PM and CFO, forecasting at least three months ahead.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

·        At least 3 years’ experience managing construction projects.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer systems; able to quickly learn new software.

·        Highly organized with strong time management and basic accounting skills.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

·        Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying inconsistencies and resolving them.

·        Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a “whatever it takes” attitude.

·        Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

·        Physically capable of navigating active construction sites in varying weather and terrain conditions.

·        Experience with project management software, time tracking tools, and Trimble Business Center is preferred.

 

DESIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.
