Lead Financial Strategy & Business Operations in a Stable, Growing Company

This is a high-impact leadership role, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and HR-related financial functions, ensuring that the company maintains financial stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Accountable for the full accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, providing insights into company performance, profitability, and expense management.
  • Provide status updates on financial conditions by collecting, interpreting, and reporting data to ownership.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing costing and financial trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by working closely with the CPA firm to anticipate legislation changes, enforce adherence, and file required reports.

Oversight of Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll

  • Supervise an Accounting Staff Member who is responsible for AP, AR, and Payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Oversee customer credit management, including collections and placing customers on hold when necessary.
  • Approve vendor payments and oversee the company’s cash flow strategy.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with regulations.

General Ledger, Cost Accounting & Financial Controls

  • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial data and reconciliations.
  • Lead cost accounting functions, including inventory costing and financial analysis.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement solutions for system inefficiencies in inventory costing and financial reporting.

Strategic Financial Planning & Business Advisory

  • Develop financial forecasts and models to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement operational efficiencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to ownership and plant management, providing data-driven insights for business growth and investment decisions.

Process & System Improvement

  • Streamline financial operations by implementing process improvements and automation.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and develop workarounds where necessary.

HR & Compliance Responsibilities

Payroll, Benefits & Compliance Oversight

  • Oversee payroll processing through ADP, ensuring compliance with all tax and labor regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits administration, including 401(k), health insurance, pension plans, and disability coverage.
  • Work with outside brokers to manage business insurance and employee benefits.

HR Compliance & Employee Support

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, including PFMLA and state disability benefits.
  • Work closely with the CPA for compliance reporting related to taxing authorities and bank requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Proven leadership experience in accounting and financial management with full-cycle accounting oversight.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance requirements.Experience managing financial reporting, compliance, and risk mitigation.Ability to oversee and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accurate execution of AP, AR, and payroll.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial trends and guide business strategy.Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems A high level of integrity, accountability, and strategic thinking.

Compensation & Hiring Details

Salary Range: $105-115k/yrAnnual Bonus Opportunity

This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong accounting background and the ability to supervise financial operations and compliance.
