Job Description: Quality Inspector & Gaging Specialist- Flint, MI

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a hybrid role, with responsibilities split approximately 70% in inspection and 30% in gaging. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in precision measurement and quality assurance, particularly within the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection (70%)
    • Perform detailed inspections of machined and assembled components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
    • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, comparators, height stands, and indicators.
    • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using vision systems like CMM and Keyence (experience preferred, but not mandatory).
  • Gaging (30%)
    • Manage and conduct gaging operations to verify product conformance.
    • Perform gage calibration and maintain accurate calibration records.
    • Work with a variety of gaging instruments, ensuring they are properly maintained and functioning correctly.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints.
  • Familiarity with a range of precision measurement instruments.
  • Experience with vision systems (e.g., CMM, Keyence) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, particularly AS9100, is highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous work in aerospace manufacturing or quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience with gage calibration and maintenance.
  • Understanding of industry best practices for inspection and measurement.
