Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager Facilities Engineering to lead facility operations, coordinate with engineering and supplier partners, and ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance across all plant systems. This role plays a key part in driving operational excellence, equipment reliability, and long-term facility sustainability within a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical depth, and proven experience managing complex facilities, utilities, and maintenance teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support operational goals while managing facility resources responsibly and cost-effectively.

  • Build and lead a high-performing maintenance team; oversee training, skill development, and performance standards.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of utilities, equipment, and facility operations; recommend and implement solutions that mitigate risks and optimize uptime.

  • Oversee inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and facility improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant work environment across all facility operations.

Key Skills & Competencies

Budgeting – Strong understanding of organizational budgeting processes with the ability to plan, forecast, and manage facility budgets effectively.

Performance Measurement – Ability to apply measurement techniques to evaluate quality, productivity, and operational outcomes.

Problem Solving – Skilled in applying structured problem-solving tools to resolve organizational, operational, and process challenges.

Manufacturing Equipment Knowledge – Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, material-handling, and logistics equipment commonly used in manufacturing; ability to ensure safe operation and maintenance.

Manufacturing Application Systems – Ability to work with digital systems and databases used in manufacturing environments, including updating and maintaining records.

Regulatory & Policy Compliance – Understanding of manufacturing procedures, standards, and compliance requirements; ability to ensure team adherence.

Plant Facilities Management – Deep knowledge of facility management strategies, methodologies, and best practices for maintaining infrastructure, equipment, and utilities.

Supplier Management – Ability to effectively manage supplier relationships related to facility materials, equipment, and maintenance services.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering or Engineering Technology degree (ABET-accredited)

  • Experience in one or more skilled trades

  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, shop operations, and facility workflows

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment systems

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance operations
