RN Director of Inpatient Services – Full-Time, Day Shift

Overview
An established acute-care hospital is seeking an experienced RN Director of Inpatient Services to provide leadership and direction across multiple clinical departments, including Med-Surg, Progressive Care (PCU), and ICU. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient care.

You’ll partner closely with hospital executives to oversee daily operations, staffing, and quality initiatives while maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a hands-on nursing leader with a passion for team development and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for inpatient nursing departments (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU).

  • Collaborate with senior nursing leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care programs.

  • Ensure adherence to all clinical standards, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.

  • Develop, mentor, and support nursing managers and frontline staff.

  • Manage budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation within assigned units.

  • Promote a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

  • Education:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital environment as a Manager or Director.

    • Med-Surg background or related inpatient experience required.

  • Certifications: Must hold all current certifications and credentials as required by state and facility policy.
