We are seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to support leadership and clinical operations within a high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This full-time, night-shift role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced critical care environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
The CICU is a specialized critical care unit that provides advanced treatment for complex cardiac and medical conditions. Patients commonly include pre- and post-operative cardiac cases, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, post-MI, and those requiring mechanical circulatory support or advanced monitoring and interventions such as IABP, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, TTM, DKA management, pacemaker support, sepsis protocols, and respiratory failure treatment.
Under the guidance of unit and organizational leadership, the Nursing Supervisor/Charge Nurse:
Promotes an optimal clinical environment and oversees unit activities during assigned shifts.
Provides direction and support to nursing staff to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.
Assists with planning, organizing, and coordinating departmental workflow and resource allocation.
Supports adherence to professional nursing standards and evidence-based practice guidelines.
Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to maintain superior clinical performance and patient experience.
Upholds professional nursing leadership standards consistent with nationally recognized scope and practice expectations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Active RN license in the state of practice (or obtained prior to start date)
Current BLS certification from an approved national provider
Professional certification in a relevant clinical specialty (required upon hire or within designated timeframe)
Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a related critical care specialty
Prior experience functioning as a Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse
Master’s Degree in Nursing
Previous leadership experience in an acute care setting
