Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to support leadership and clinical operations within a high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This full-time, night-shift role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced critical care environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

The CICU is a specialized critical care unit that provides advanced treatment for complex cardiac and medical conditions. Patients commonly include pre- and post-operative cardiac cases, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, post-MI, and those requiring mechanical circulatory support or advanced monitoring and interventions such as IABP, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, TTM, DKA management, pacemaker support, sepsis protocols, and respiratory failure treatment.

What You Will Do

Under the guidance of unit and organizational leadership, the Nursing Supervisor/Charge Nurse:

  • Promotes an optimal clinical environment and oversees unit activities during assigned shifts.

  • Provides direction and support to nursing staff to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.

  • Assists with planning, organizing, and coordinating departmental workflow and resource allocation.

  • Supports adherence to professional nursing standards and evidence-based practice guidelines.

  • Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to maintain superior clinical performance and patient experience.

  • Upholds professional nursing leadership standards consistent with nationally recognized scope and practice expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Active RN license in the state of practice (or obtained prior to start date)

  • Current BLS certification from an approved national provider

  • Professional certification in a relevant clinical specialty (required upon hire or within designated timeframe)

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a related critical care specialty

  • Prior experience functioning as a Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing

  • Previous leadership experience in an acute care setting
