We are seeking a proactive and experienced Human Resources Manager to build and lead HR operations for our growing business in Australia. This is a newly created role, so we’re looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and has experience setting up HR processes, onboarding programs, and policies from the ground up. The position is based in Brisbane or Horsham and will require regular visits to our processing facility in Minyip, Victoria—about once per month to start, and then only as needed. This is a full-time, in-office role with the option to work remotely a couple of days a week once training and the probationary period are complete.

Position Details

  • Salary: AUD $100,000 – $125,000
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Work Model: In-office; hybrid flexibility post-probation
  • Vacation: 4 weeks (20 business days) + statutory holidays
  • Benefits: Available after probationary period
  • Bonus: Standard company bonus plan
  • Travel: Initial monthly visits to Minyip (2-hour flight to Melbourne + 3-hour drive); less frequent over time
  • Facility Notes: Non-unionized; one shift currently in operation

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement HR frameworks, policies, and onboarding processes
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and facilitate smooth new hire integration
  • Provide HR support and guidance to managers and employees
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality
  • Support employee development, retention, and performance management
  • Oversee workplace health and safety compliance, audits, and training
  • Manage incident reporting and injury claims in coordination with health authorities
  • Assist with payroll by compiling and validating employee data
  • Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries and liaise with finance
  • Ensure HR and safety practices are aligned across all locations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 3 years of HR experience in a generalist capacity
  • Proven ability to build and implement HR and onboarding processes from scratch
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law and WHS standards
  • Experience with payroll processes and HR systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel between Brisbane and Minyip as needed
