We're partnering with one of the world’s largest processors and exporters of high-quality plant-based food products to recruit a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Coordinator in Plum Coulee, Manitoba.

As an FSQA Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in upholding food safety standards, leading audits, supporting regulatory compliance, and ensuring that products meet both internal and external quality expectations.

 

FSQA Coordinator Details

  • Monday to Friday schedule

  • Salary: $50,000/year

  • 2 weeks vacation

  • Benefits after 90 days

FSQA Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, verification, validation, and maintenance of the SQF system

  • Participate in the plant’s Health and Safety program

  • Ensure resources are available to achieve food safety objectives and support the SQF system

  • Conduct and evaluate product tests and operational procedures

  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with a consultant

  • Lead SQF certification and recertification audits

  • Manage document control and system implementation

  • Ensure compliance with labeling, specifications, and regulatory standards

  • Maintain and audit the vendor approval program

  • Conduct internal audits and monitor internal programs

  • Assist in regulatory, customer, and third-party inspections/audits (FDA, CFEA, CFIA, SQF)

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints

  • Train team members in GFSI and SQF standards (HACCP, GMP, PRP, SOP, WHMIS)

  • Maintain sanitation and organization in compliance with safety regulations

  • Provide regular reports to management on SQF and health/safety matters

  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as required

 

FSQA Coordinator Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food safety practices, HACCP, and safety programs

  • Preferred certification in HACCP and SQF

  • Preferred internal auditor certification

  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

  • Knowledge of labeling and nutritional regulations (FDA and USDA standards)
