Job Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The Controller ensures accuracy and integrity in financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports strategic decision-making through timely financial analysis and reporting.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets.
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for all levels of leadership, management and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations and standards.
Coordinate and support audits (internal and external) and tax filings.
Supervise and develop the accounting team, ensuring professional development and performance management.
Maintain accounting systems and software; recommend improvements and efficiencies.
Assist in developing financial policies, procedures, and documentation.
Support CFO and senior leadership with special projects, financial planning, and analysis.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven track record of leading a high performing team of accounting professionals and fulfilling the full range of performance management duties for the staff
Effective communication, organization, and relationship-building skills are essential for this role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, GAAP and DCAA compliance.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Experience working with small business set-asides (e.g., 8(a), SDVOSB).
Knowledge of GSA schedules and IDIQ contract vehicles.
Track record of successful DCAA audits and incurred cost submissions.
Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Deltek, SAP).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to function effectively and contribute as a member of a high performing team
Education and Experience:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Required: Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred: CPA or CMA certification
Preferred: Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, GAAP and DCAA compliance
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
