We’re looking for a dependable, motivated, and safety-conscious team member to join the 8 Bar Machine and Roll Mill Department. You will assist in the setup, daily operation, and scheduling of production equipment. You’ll also support ongoing process improvements and collaborate on team initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Set up and operate equipment: punch and drill presses, Bridgeport mill, saws, sanders, wire tools, 8-Bar and C-Channel curve machines, and various hand tools.• Operate forklifts and 2-ton overhead cranes using proper lifting tools and techniques.• Construct pallets, crates, or boxes using staple guns, nails, and banding tools.• Measure and cut materials accurately using tape measures, saws, and related tools.• Perform and propose preventative maintenance; troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems with minimal supervision.• Read blueprints and work orders to accurately select, measure, and assemble parts.• Monitor machine performance, adjust as needed, and inspect finished products for quality.• Use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, squares, protractors) for accurate measurements.• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in alignment with 5S and EHS policies.• Contribute to process improvements that reduce setup and production time.• Complete timecards, work orders, and documentation accurately.• Provide technical guidance on compliance-related matters, including UL and CSA certifications.Qualifications:• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience accepted.• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.• Willingness to obtain company-issued forklift and crane certifications (training provided).• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements and counts.• Comfortable working independently and troubleshooting issues.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with roll forming processes and tooling.• Experience using hand tools, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment.• Understanding of air, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
