The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and upkeep of mechanical equipment to ensure maximum production efficiency and quality. This role follows an 8-hour shift, 5 days per week, and includes participation in a rotating weekly on-call schedule. Flexibility is essential, as the technician may assist in the grain handling and other departments as needed.
Duties: Including but not limited to: • Maintain and execute the plant’s preventative maintenance program.• Monitor inventory of spare parts and supplies; reorder as necessary.• Perform maintenance on all plant equipment and keep work areas clean and organized.• Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.• Prepare reports, analyze data, and recommend operational improvements.• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, centrifuges, conveyors, rolling stock, and grain handling systems.• Inspect and maintain plant pneumatic and hydraulic systems.• Support safety programs, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.• Monitor equipment performance to reduce downtime and identify areas for improvement.• Lead or assist in cost-reduction and efficiency projects.• Ensure compliance with all city, county, state, and federal maintenance regulations.• Coordinate repair and maintenance activities with Operations and QA departments.• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, wheel loaders, and man lifts.• Support plant improvement projects and expansions.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in a technical/vocational field, military technical training, or 3+ years of relevant work experience.• Proficiency with CMMS software and the ability to train others.• Background in welding, mechanical, and basic electrical troubleshooting.• Competency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
