Controller – P&C - Florida, Atlantic Coastal

This Coastal Florida P&C insurance carrier will hire a Controller. The role leads the Accounting Team in all financial reporting and analysis – support regulatory, operational, reinsurance reporting and financial systems. There is a 10% target bonus with this role.
Skill/experience requirements and preferences:
Advanced working knowledge of insurance financial technology
10+ years of experience in P&C insurance carrier accounting – not brokerage/agency
A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising/mentoring staff
STAT/GAAP
Current/recent P&C Insurance experience is REQUIRED
CPA is not required, but preferred
Solid reinsurance accounting skills
Team development/mentorship
Previous supervision of remote and in-house staff is preferred
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Manage all month, quarter and annual closings
2. Production of timely and accurate financial reports
3. Production of the Executive Monthly Close Package
4. Development and maintenance of internal controls, ensuring compliance
5. Account reconciliations
6. Production of accurate reinsurance billings
7. Lead financial analysis
8. Support audit and tax compliance reporting
