Controller, AVP FP&A - Life Insurance
Greater Detroit, MI - (remote with intermittent travel to MI)
REQUIRES LIFE INSURANCE CARRIER EXPERIENCE
Assisting another recruiter on this search.............Reports to CFO and is responsible for the day- to- day financial operations and reporting of this life carrier. Responsibilities include FP&A, Financial Controls and Accounting Operations. Highly visible role within the Corporate Suite will guide financial strategic decisions leading to greater company profitability.
 
Details of responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Financial reporting, analysis, program development, fiscal records and all management reports.
2. Support the CFO in all Board and Committee engagements.
3. Lead FP&A - short- and long- term goal assessments and planning.
4. Analyze and present statistical and financial data to be used in formulating strategic financial plans.
5. STAT/GAAP financial reporting
6. Involved in the evaluation and upgrading of financial systems and accounting cost processes.
 
BASIC REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES/REQUIREMENTS
CPA, CFA, CMA, MBA is preferred.
+10 years of upward advancement in the financial operations and reporting within a LIFE INSURANCE carrier is required. 8 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Treasury operations and life insurance tax provision experience will be strong plusses.
