Job Description

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
  • Review and analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine scope and pricing.
  • Develop quantity takeoffs and pricing strategies to optimize project bids.
  • Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to refine estimates.
  • Lead and mentor junior estimators, providing training and guidance.
  • Participate in design-assist and value engineering discussions.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and proposals are completed with precision.
  • Visit project sites as needed to gain firsthand insight into job requirements.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in estimating or construction engineering/construction management is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Experience in electrical construction is a plus.
  • Proficiency in software such as Excel, Word, BlueBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. (5+ years of electrical construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
