Ascension Search Partners has been engaged to hire a high-EQ, people-centric CFO to lead and elevate the finance and accounting operations for a real estate firm with multiple billions in AUM. This role is ideal for financial professional who brings not only technical finance and accounting expertise, but also exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You’ll oversee a distributed accounting team—ensuring smooth operations, strong team cohesion, and high performance while building out the finance function.

Beyond internal leadership, the CFO will play a key role in managing and strengthening relationships with external stakeholders, including investment partners and lenders. You’ll be expected to present financial insights clearly and confidently to the CEO and broader executive team, helping drive strategic decision-making at the highest level.

We’re seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and knows how to lead with both data and empathy.

The ideal candidate will have:

-Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting 

-CPA

-15+ years of experience including public accounting with a preference toward Big 4, and progressive experience from accounting through to finance 

-Experience in a leadership role managing a small team acting in a player coach fashion

-High EQ, interpersonal skills, able to manage up and down an organization, and business savvy

-Ability to see the greater strategic picture but drill down into details when necessary

-Strong change management experience evaluating people, process, data, and growth

-Ability to present effectively to the CEO and Board of Directors using accurate and salient data

-Experience with systems in the real estate sector
