Ascension Search Partners has been retained to hire a General Manager for a high growth business in South Florida to oversee and manage the company's US Operations. This role has been carefully designed to allow for a direct promotion to eventually become the US Business Leader who will gradually assume full autonomy and responsibility, reporting directly to company Board Leadership. The General Manager will be instrumental in managing all aspects of day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to regulations, fostering a high-performance team culture, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance revenue, market expansion, and customer acquisition.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Full responsibility for all US based operations inclusive of operations, sales, business development, HR, and company strategy overseeing all day to day operations spanning from back to front office.
  • Act as primary point of contact for the company's US operation and company leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a high-performance team, structuring teams to align with company objectives.
  • Monitor and report market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key existing clients while building new client relationships.
  • Collaborate with Finance to manage the operation’s budget, forecast, and expenses.
  • Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition through innovative strategies and partnerships.
  • Challenge current strategies and propose improvements to enhance business growth, particularly in commercial aspects.
  • Collaborate closely with the US CEO on strategic matters, including overall business strategy, client alliances, new services/business lines, market expansion, and customer acquisition.

 

Educational/Experience Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree and top-tier MBA with a focus on strategy, finance, and commercial areas.
  • 2-4 years of management consulting experience, preferably with McKinsey & Co, Bain & Co., BCG having worked in the retail segment, complemented by experience in general market companies.
  • Extensive experience in managing multi-layered teams, preferably at the VP-level in medium-sized general market companies.
  • Alternatively, experience as a General Manager, Business Unit Director, or small-sized company CEO with a track record of financial and non-financial success.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with division CFOs and other country CFOs; previous finance experience is advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of the US market
  • Bilingual in Spanish with an understanding of Latin American culture is a plus
  • Highly ambitious, adaptable, and innovative
  • Experience with start ups or building a business from scratch is highly preferred
